A Big Bet on ZuckerbergFacebook’s documents show that Mark Zuckerberg will retain full control over the social networking giant even after it becomes one of America’s largest publicly traded companies

So Krish, I take it you're ready and waiting to pounce on some FB stocks?

If you are not paying for it, you’re not the customer; you’re the product being sold.

fixed my above quote

Quote
Speaking at the inaugural Hello Etsy conference in Berlin, the author of Program or Be Programmed said: "Ask a kid what Facebook is for and they'll answer 'it's there to help me make friends'. Facebook's boardroom isn't talking about how to make Johnny more friends. It's talking about how to monetise Johnnny's social graph."

He added: "Ask yourself who is paying for Facebook. Usually the people who are paying are the customers. Advertisers are the ones who are paying. If you don't know who the customer of the product you are using is, you don't know what the product is for. We are not the customers of Facebook, we are the product. Facebook is selling us to advertisers."

well what i have learned with forums is that you have to have good content that makes people want to come and stay

thats why every website has facebook icons. it's easier for people to discover content within facebook vs getting them to another site.

if vivek inc wants to advertise our new product, i rather direct you to facebook.com/vivekinc. get you to "like" or comment on our page. that way i didn't just expose you to the product, i got you to expose my product to all of your friends.

all for the same price of directing you to my site.

i love when a plan comes together

from my point of view as an fb member. fb is just another discussion site , with picture privildeges

i didnt mean there wasnt value in what fb provides to its members, but the members are still the product. creating a good user experience is required, or else the product pool will dwindle.

fb has loyal support because i noticed people comment on fb but not the forums themselves
