because of the big scores
Success does not consist in never making blunders, but in never making the same one the second time.

Both of them are bullies of West indies bowlers esp Samuels but failures against international squads. Smith plays since we need a second opener and Samuels get in the team if one of Bravo/Chanders/Sarwan are dropped.

In-form Nash anxious for Test action

<p class="rteleft">GEORGETOWN&mdash;West Indies vice-captain Brendan Nash says he is anxious to rejoin the fray after four months out of international spotlight. The left-hander was recalled for the two-Test series against Pakistan starting here tomorrow, after being overlooked for the regional side&rsquo;s limited overs campaign earlier this year. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m feeling mentally and physically ready for the series. I am hitting the ball really well and I&rsquo;m where I want to be in the lead-up to the ...

“I have confidence in Shiv. He has been around cricket for a long time and he is very professional and I think he will go back in there and play the game how he is supposed to play it. We (all three selectors) spoke to him and we are confident he will go out there and get the job done,” said Butts.

LETTER OF THE DAY - Hapless WICB forced Gayle to take charge   Jamaica Gleaner
Every major cricketing nation takes seriously the close link between cricket and its socio-economic experience. What is happening to West Indies cricket would never be allowed to pass by in any other country. If the Pakistan Cricket Board is perceived .

Nash has developed into a reliable batsman for the Windies test team. When he was first selected, I didn't think he would be. This sounds kind of cliche, but he does show that application and training makes up for limited skill (at international standards)

As long as it wasn't one of those infamous batting meetings, everything should be alright with Shiv...

If Shivnarine Chanderpaul's complaints about West Indies cricket management are true, then he deserves more respect, says Sir Viv Richards.

Viv richards view on darren sammy

"He needs to improve (his personal performances) a little bit more so he gives confidence to (teammates), having (warranted) that position as captain. The ball is in his court, but I still think that in a thinking capacity he is the right person, but at some point he will have to (back it up). If he doesn't know that, he is in the wrong game."Link Text

sammy is a paradox.  his captaincy cannot be resolved on the field of play and in balanced team selection.

its inpossible and I refuse to continue to try..even on paper, in hypotheticals.  I refuse to play dat game.

hunte and the wicb are not serious.  sammy is a wrench in the works and dats dat, a laffing matter that is not progressive, not useful, ridiculous, insane.

richards can say wat he wants about  sammys brains. I dont see that that is in anyway compensatory for his lack of comparitive ability at the top level of the game.

from now on for me westindies is the carricature we have been brought to by administration.  and I will laff and ridicule westindies until we get serious again for that is all we deserve..ridiculous, condescending and comtemptuous lafter
