The West Indies cricket squad bus was attacked by angry Bangladesh fans on Friday after the home team crashed to a nine-wicket defeat in the World Cup.
Two windows of the bus were shattered as it was leaving the Sher-e-Bangla stadium after the match, a police official said, adding that no player was injured.
"The fans thought it was the Bangladeshi team bus and they hurled stones at it," Imtiaz Ahmed, deputy commissioner of police in Dhaka, told AFP.                                    Advertisement: Story continues below                                                                                    "The window panes were shattered, but no one was injured."
West Indian star Chris Gayle had tweeted: "Bangladesh (fans) stoning our bus! Freaking glass break! This is crap, can't believe ... what next bullets!
"This is ridiculous. Damn. World Cup with so much security and this happens. Big joke. Trust me I am not keen here. Every player lay flat."

“This is some bulls**t…..Bangladesh stoning our bus!!! Freaking glass Break!!! This is crap,can’t believe..what next bullets!!!! Kiss teeth,” Windies opener Chris Gayle tweeted after the incident.
The Windies side took little time in dismissing the co-hosts for meager 58 – the lowest score by a full member team in World Cup history before reaching the target with just one dropped wickets.
Unhappy with the manner at which the West Indies humiliated their team, Bangladesh fans threw stones at the Caribbean side’s team bus and apparently broke a few the windows as they try to leave the ground for their hotel.No one was reported as being hurt, but it is understood that the ICC have immediately called for a full investigation of the incident.
The West Indies moved up to second in the tournament behind South Africa with its second win, while Bangladesh fell second to last after the nine wicket defeat that lasted just 31.1 overs.
Bangladesh fans had turned on their own team on Friday with boos and angry accusation as it entered the field to bowl against the West Indies.
Several fans claimed that the team is still playing like “immature minnows” and have put a dent in their weekend plans for partying.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh police revealed that the fans had mistaken the West Indies bus for the Bangladesh bus.

Chris Gayle tweeted moments after the incident, "This is some bulls***.....Bangladesh stoning our bus!!! Freaking glass Break!!! This is crap,can't believe..what next bullets!!!! Kiss teeth".

The team's media manager, Philip Spooner, confirmed that two windows cracked, but none shattered, and hence no stone could make its way inside. "We left the ground, and on our way back to the hotel, a couple of stones did hit our window," Spooner said. "Two windows were cracked, but not shattered. We are now back at the hotel, both teams are back at the hotel and are safe."
